Limit results for urn models using embedding in branching processes.

Asymptotic results for generalized P\'olya urns are obtained from a functional limit theorem for continuous-time multitype-branching processes. Some recent result on urns with triangular replacement schemes will also be discussed; these involve other types of limits.
