For several years, the ALGORITHMS Project has been working under Philippe Flajolet's guidance in the field of symbolic computation. This activity takes various aspects: research works; a bi-weekly seminar; courses to engineers, professors and students; the publication of books about computer algebra, especially the Maple system (the Project maintains a strong relationship to the Maple community.)
The ALGORITHMS Project also offers you many examples of use of Maple in combinatorics and asymptotics, both ingredients of the analysis of algorithms.
Xavier Gourdon and
Springer-Verlag published numerous books about Maple, like those of Corless; Redfern; Gander and Hrebicek (use the keyword Maple in the field title, in the Springer mathematics catalog).

Frédéric Chyzak developped a Maple package Mgfun, which extends gfun to the multivariate case; see Frédéric Chyzak's home page
