Researcher died

> J.M. Dumont died.

This sad news was confirmed by Jean-Paul Allouche who works in related
areas. It seems Jean-Marie, who was working at the University of
Marseilles, died from a disease that quickly took him.
Jean-Marie will be remembered by all those who knew him for his
exceptional kindness.

His reseach works in recent years were devoted to the analysis of
number representation systems and their spectral analysis. His works
directly relate to the investigation of divide-and-conquer recurrences
and the associated periodicity phenomena, a subject of interest to
this list.

Jean-Paul Allouche has kindly agreed to post soon a perspective on
some of Jean-Marie Dumont's results.
